"ZERO TOLERANCE TO VIOLENCE ON MY CAMPUS: GENDER AND DATING VIOLENCE TRAINING"

YANINDAYIZ, a rights advocacy association working together with women and adopting the pro-feminist* movement in which men advocate for gender equality in the face of patriarchal inequality, influence each other on this issue and trigger mental transformation, aims to raise awareness about dating violence among young people at universities with the support of the German Consulate, As one of the5 implementing universities selected for the project, which aims to create spaces where young people can share their experiences on dating violence awareness and to disseminate gender-sensitive good practices in academia, the first trainings were completed on October 9 at Basın Ekspres Campus of our university and on October 17 at Ataköy Campus. The other universities where the trainings were implemented were Bilgi University, MEF University, Bahçeşehir University and Kent University. Galatasaray University Sociology Department Faculty Member, GSU Top. Research. Center Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Feyza Ak Akyol and Galatasaray University Sociology Department Lecturer Dr. İpek Merçil discussed the topics of Gender Stereotypes, Gender Equality and Approaches, Violence Against Women and Its Types, Dating Violence and Its Types and Characteristics of Healthy Relationships. Trainings will continue at other campuses of our university.
